When performing Russian twists to target the obliques with rotation squeeze a small ball between your knees to activate your adductors. Adductor activity facilitates deep core activation to enhance spine stability. .
Remember last week I discussed the most important function of the obliques is to resist rotation so if you have back pain due to lumbar instability you should perform dead-bugs, planks, and paloff press exercises that I posted last week! .
If you do have a healthy back squeeze the ball and you will certainly feel a difference! .
