"Motor racing is effectively about driving on the limit of the vehicle and therefore as quickly as possible without crashing, and it's considerably harder than many people realise! There is a massive technical basis to driving fast, but people appear to possess different levels of natural talent as well, so whatever the individual's level, experience is key.
Start early in life if possible, karting provides the best grounding in racing and you can start at the age of 8. If starting later, seek professional advice for how to make the most sensible entry into the sport, as Motor Sport is expensive and mistakes can be very costly.
Whether an adult or child, karting is the cheapest (and therefore most efficient) way to learn the basics, the dynamics of driving quickly, and race craft, so I would start there." - Matt Howson, Motor Sport (Racing Driver/Driver Coach)
